KTSB has been organizing the golf outing for 19 consecutive years and this is one of the most anticipated events by the customers and authorities. This year, like the previous years, the venue of the golf outing was at Resorts World Awana Genting Highlands Golf and Country Club and was held on Saturday, 16th November 2019.
A dinner at the Kenari and Poolside Room, with the Board members and the customers was held on the eve of the golf outing which included the performance by Plan B, a five-member band, and also the karaoke session.
As early as 0600hrs on 16th November 2019, the golfers arrived at the Registration Counter for the registration, breakfast and briefing. By 0730hrs all the golfers were assembled for the group photo. The tee-off started at 0745hrs amid the morning breeze, thick mist and cold weather. Additionally, the location boasts crisp mountain weather – a refreshing change from the humidity in the lowlands. About 84 golfers (21 flights) displayed their golfing skills to the maximum. Besides the KTSB’s Board of Directors and eight customers, they were also golfers from PETRONAS Group and authorities from various government agencies.
The game format was Texas Scramble Team Event (Pairing: 2 players) combined with a new mode of play of East Coast vs. West Coast (similar to Ryder Cup). The novelties prizes included the ‘Break the 2018 Records’ and another 2 holes were selected as ‘Fun Holes’ which was the 1st Hole (Beat the Pro) and the 4th Hole (Near to Water). KTSB also invited one of Malaysian professional golfers, Airil Rizman Zahari, for the ‘Beat the Pro’ session to add more fun in the game.
The prize giving ceremony was held while the golfers enjoying their sumptuous meal at Kenyalang Room. The event ended at 1500hrs with both East and West were tied or even score with the score of 8 points each and 5 draws.
With a beautiful view and a challenging course, we wish that this year’s outing is one of the most memorable events in KTSB’s 2019 calendar and also to all the participants whilst nurturing a close relationship. Till next year and a great thanks to the Golf Committee for the hard work!!.
